Overview:
As COVID-19 continues to introduce uncertainty into the world, don’t forget that you have lean principles and techniques that can help you introduce and maintain order and structure in your projects and your personal lives.
Help your projects and yourself stay focused on continuous improvement despite the disruptions at work and at home! Successful lean projects achieve outstanding project results in schedule, cost, and quality because project teams prioritize being reliable in keeping promises, achieving continuous work flow, and learning to see and remove waste to ensure value generation by all work activities.
Join us for a webinar by Dr. Cynthia Tsao, Owner of Navilean LLC and Founder of Building AEC Learning, in which she will discuss ideas for:
- Leveraging the Last Planner® System to improve planning on your projects (especially if they are put on hold due to regulatory requirements)
- Improving the logistics on your projects
- Continuing your own lean learning and development by accessing resources online and reaching out to others
- Practicing what we preach as many of us deal with the challenges of working from home

Cynthia C.Y. Tsao – Owner of Navilean LLC
Since 1997, Cynthia collaborates with fellow educators and researchers in academia and practice to help the Owner-Architect-Engineer-Contractor (OAEC) industry understand and leverage Lean Project Delivery to dramatically improve project outcomes and thus, better serve society. Cynthia has organized, facilitated, and presented at over 50 trade association and university events. She has worked on multi-project engagements with US-based general contractors and personally coached over 80 field superintendents / site managers.
From 2008 to 2011, Cynthia developed an operational structure for the Lean Construction Institute (LCI) and oversaw the unprecedented growth of LCI Communities of Practice from 3 to 17. As a lean coach, she guides companies and project teams in Project Team Alignment, Decision Making Strategy, Design and Delivery Management, Knowledge Management, and Production System Design and Control.
With an eye for making explicit the handoffs of work between project team members, Cynthia uses her expertise in product-process design integration to help teams transform complex design problems into ones that are easier to procure and construct. She also helps companies and project teams sustain their lean journeys by determining how to efficiently use and enhance team member capabilities to foster a culture of respect, continuous learning, and continuous improvement.
